(1) Chancellor's Doctoral Research Medals provides a mechanism for the University of New England to recognise (2) These Procedures outline the basis for awarding of Chancellor's Doctoral Research Medals, and should be read in conjunction with the University Medals Policy. (3) Chancellor's Doctoral Research Medals are awarded for excellence in the University of New England Doctor of Philosophy, Doctor of Education and Doctor of Philosophy (Innovation) theses or research portfolios. The Medals will be given for doctoral research that is of exceptional merit and at the forefront of the field. (4) Candidates, eligible for shortlisting, have met the following: (5) The Graduate Research Committee will decide on the Medals to be awarded each year. Considerations in determining the quality of the theses are: (6) The evidence to be used will include: (7) There shall be up to four Chancellor's Doctoral Research Medals awarded per year at the autumn graduation ceremonies and up to two Medals awarded per year at the spring graduation ceremonies to doctoral (8) Chancellor's Doctoral Research Medals are a discretionary award by the University for outstanding academic merit. There is no appeal against decisions that confer or do not confer a Medal.
