( Top )PDF's won't open using Google Chrome

If PDF attachments won't open when using Google Chrome, then please follow these steps:

  1. Open Google Chrome
  2. Type the following into the address bar: chrome://plugins/ 
  3. Click the disable Chrome PDF Viewer button
  4. Close Google Chrome and restart your computer

If the problem still persists email policies@une.edu.au

 

Using the policy register system
( Top )What changes are in the new version of a document?

 To see the change between the current and previous version of a document:

  1. Choose the policy document required within the UNE Policy Library, and open the document to your screen.
  2. Choose the 'Status and Details' tab, located in the dark grey ribbon across the top of the screen.

You will be taken to the Status and Details page, which contains information about approval and review dates, contact details for the relevant Unit head, and a brief summary of changes between this and the previous version of the document.

( Top )How can I find the previous version(s) of a policy document?

Previous versions of a policy document can be located as follows:

  1. Select the current version of the policy document required, and open this to your screen.
  2. Choose the 'Historic Versions' tab from the grey ribbon across the top of the screen.

You will be taken to the Historic Versions page, where each version of the policy document and its effective period, are listed in chronological order. 

  1. If you are searching for a document as it was current at a particular date, identify the relevant effective period and then choose the document using its name at that time.  You will know that you are viewing an historic version of the document, as it will be displayed within a red window.  The most current version of a policy document is always displayed within a green window.
  2. To identify changes made between versions of historic documents, please choose the Status and Details tab in the grey ribbon across the top of the screen.  This will show the changes between the version chosen, and its previous iteration.
( Top )How can I search for every mention of a particular term across the whole policy library?

This is accomplished using the UNE Policy Library Search Engine, and via the following steps:

  1. Choose the 'Search' tile available at the policy website or, the 'Search' tab if you have accessed the 'View A-Z' section of the website.
  2. Enter the search term into the 'Full Text' window of the search engine.
  3. Choose 'Match Exact Phrase'.
  4. Choose 'Search the Database'.

 

( Top )Is there a way to find out what a policy document contains, before I access it?

The policy system is currently set to defaul to a list of policy documents, arranged alphabetically.  To expand the list and view a summary of each document, please follow these steps:

  1. Choose the 'A-Z Policies' tile from the Policies webpage, or if you are already within the system,  the 'View A-Z' tab from the grey ribbon across the top of the screen.
  2. Beside the letter of the alphabet appropriate to the policy document you require, choose 'View Summary Descriptions'. 
  3. The list will expand to show a summary of the policy document, which is also the information contained within the overview section of each*.
