(7) The colours used for gown facings, hoods or stoles should represent discrete groupings of graduates of broadly cognate disciplines rather than the specific award. The following broad groupings of colours are to be used for new awards: (8) Already agreed colours outside of the above broad groupings remain unchanged and may be used as the basis for future awards in the same discipline area. New award colours will be considered and recommended by the Academic Board as part of the process for approval of new awards. (11) The Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive Officer pursuant to Section 29 of the University of New England Act 1993 (NSW) makes this University Rule. (12) (13) The Rule Administrator is the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academic Innovation) who is authorised to make Policies and associated information for the operation of this University Rule. The Policies and associated information must be compatible with the provisions of this Rule. (14) This Rule operates as and from the (15) Previous policy on (16) Notwithstanding the other provisions of this Rule, the Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive Officer may approve an exception to this Rule where the Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive Officer determines the application of the Rule would otherwise lead to an unfair, unreasonable or absurd outcome.
