Summary of Changes from Previous Version

A review of the current Functions of the Vice-Chancellor was commenced in July and discussed with the
Remuneration Committee at its August 2021 meeting.
Following discussion and feedback from the committee and input from Legal services, a revised VC Functions
Rule is now appended for the Committee’s consideration.
Focus of the amendments are to better articulate expected roles and responsibilities not covered by the
existing Rule, and to clarify key terms relevant to the support of the Vice-Chancellor’s functions. The
substantive delegated functions assigned to the Vice-Chancellor have not been amended.
As this is a Council approved policy instrument, endorsement from the Committee is requested before the
policy is provided to the Council for approval.
