Summary of Changes from Previous Version

26 Jun 2019: Code was reviewed by Director UNE Residential Services, with date for next review being extended to 31 Jul 2020 pending an amendment to the definition of ‘hazing’ (provided at clause 15 of the document). Revised definition was provided by the Australian Human Rights Commission and has been incorporated into the Code in accordance with Recommendation 9 of the Commission’s review of the University’s college residences (provided 20 May 2019). Please note that the penalty for hazing/initiation occurring at Appendix A as an associated document to the Code, has been removed from Level 1 and incorporated into Level 2 of the Residential Colleges Code of Conduct Penalty Guidelines, in accordance with the Commission’s recommendations.

4 Jul 2018:  The UNE Residential Code of Conduct has been added to the suite of documents located within the UNE Policy Register System and has been effective since the beginning of 2018.  The Code is reviewed annually and administered by UNE Residential Systems. It outlines the principles, expectations and rules for the conduct of all College Members at the University of New England.
