Summary of Changes from Previous Version

At its meeting of 16 September 2016, UNE Council approved the following amendments:

Clause 4 - expanded to provide examples of personal and health information included within the Scope of the Rule;

Clause 12 - expanded to include 'and health' information;

Clauses 13 - expanded to include collection of information from a third party by way of a grievance/complaint;

Clause 15 - expanded to include points at which the University may collect personal information about an individual;

Clause 19 - expanded to include examples of instances where the University collects and uses health-related information;

Clause 20 - expanded to incorporate a timeframe for notification that personal information has been collected from a third party;

Clause 24 - expanded to include further information about the collection of personal information from unsolicited agencies;

Clause 35 - amended to provide explicit instructions about the storage of personal information within the University's approved record keeping system;

Clause 37 - provides special protocols for the storage of health information;

Clause 38 - provides special protocols for the storage of personal information by third party organisations who may be contracted by the University to perform a particular service;

Clause 39 - provides special protocols about the storage of personal information by Schools and business units;

Clauses 42, 43 and 44 - expanded to include health information;

Clause 46 - expanded to provide examples of online systems where personal information can be amended;

Clause 54 - includes special protocols regarding the use and disclosure of health related personal information;

Clause 65 - provides a list of the University's public registers; and

Clauses 66-87 - expanded to include detailed information about the way the University addresses privacy concerns and complaints.
